The Art Truck is out in the community sharing our love of art and encouraging kids and adults throughout Connecticut to express their creativity. We would like to invite your family to join us for some upcoming events.
We will be at the Simsbury Farmers’ Market on the Green at Simsmore Square on Thursday, September 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. We will be providing a free art activity that will be fun for children. Kids can drop in to celebrate farm animals and decorate a cow or pig on a stick. This is a great way for your children to express their creativity while enjoying the food and excitement of the farmers’ market.
We will also be at the Glastonbury Apple Harvest Festival at Riverfront Park, 300 Welles Street, on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18. The event will feature live bands, vendors, food and beverages, amusement rides, silent movies, fireworks, races, a bicycle scavenger hunt, a pie eating contest, and a petting zoo. We will be there with another free art activity for kids. The activity has yet to be determined. We will keep you posted.
If you are looking for something fun to do with your children, visit us at the Simsbury Farmers’ Market or the Glastonbury Apple Harvest. Your kids will love making art projects with The Art Truck and participating in all of the other fun activities and events. Activities from The Art Truck are free, so come and stop by with your whole family.
Art is a great way for kids to express their creativity and have fun. If you are planning a birthday party in the near future, here are some ideas for your child and his or her friends to enjoy.
Kids love to dress up as their favorite characters. Your child can invite friends over for a costume party where they can become fictional characters, complete with crowns and wands. Tinkerbell and Peter Pan are popular choices. You can take some photos to keep mementos of the special day.
Children love to play with and draw animals, especially ones from farms that they might not see every day. You can celebrate farm life by purchasing some animal stencils and paint from your local crafts store and helping your child create barnyard paintings to decorate his or her room.
Beanie Boos are all the rage. You can get some to use as models and help your child draw or paint Beanie Boos. The shapes are simple enough that kids of all ages can draw or paint them.
Have a superhero celebration. Cut out a mask and have your child decorate it with paint, markers, crayons, paper, or whatever else you have around the house. Your child can instantly be transformed into a favorite superhero and act out scenes with friends.
These are just a few creative party ideas. We are sure you can come up with some of your own. The most important part is to encourage your child to be creative and have fun.
The Art Truck will be hosting our third and final week of Creativity Camps at our party studio in Glastonbury, Connecticut from August 11 to 13. Creativity Camps are an exciting way for kids to participate in hands-on art activities and build their skills and knowledge of materials and processes in a studio setting. Creativity Camps are designed for children between the ages of 6 and 10.
The theme for the third week of Creativity Camps will be “Party Like a Sculptor and Build Your Art.” Sessions will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
On Tuesday, August 11, kids can play with clay at Creativity Camp. They will explore using three types of clay to create small vessels, beads, and wearable works of art.
On Wednesday, August 12, guest artists can build their very own robots with space-age abilities and unique personalities. We will supply a variety of new and recycled building materials.
On Thursday, August 13, kids can create garden art. We will teach them how to build mini chandeliers and mobiles to add bling to the family garden or their bedrooms.
Enrollment is limited to 16 guest artists per session. The cost is $25 per person per individual session. Two Art Truck Creativity Coaches will provide children with the materials and instruction they will need to create their works of art.
If you are looking for a fun, creative activity for your kids this summer, enroll them in one of The Art Truck’s Creativity Camps. Spots are filling up fast, so contact us today to make your reservations.
